A response to the general question episode, about fasting – and the White House…A standard comment I hear: Trump is just human, just like us- and yet that reflection is never given to Biden. He’s just human, too…
If I wanted to represent the Bible, I might point out the Decorations of Gold that now occupy the Oval Office, and how the AntiChrist will be defined by Gold..
When Trump sets foot in Gaza, he will be a King with a middle East land- and will have met all milestones to be the AntiChrist.. More Jesus, which was promised; less defending Trump.
Born This Way – 10/1/24..
Brittany said it was her favorite and I see why. Had no idea where this episode would go.
All I can tell you is I went to 2 churches & worked for 1 evangelical organization; lots of condemnation of gay members / workers- but less focus on those straights..
All sex is a desire, and has roots that need to be fulfilled, maybe examined..
This episode expanded my thoughts. It brought me to realize that regardless of desires, can we look at The Person and see how we can reach out beyond anyone’s self- perception/ undefined needs?
Voting As A Christian: it’s good to look back on discussions, and see how the discussion bares out today. Many topics in ‘Voting’ —-but there was one I wasn’t expecting. CAKE….
Eschatology probably didn’t figure into most voting, and I’ve previously expressed my opinion on The AntiChrist. But I have to ask, in view of End Times, did you really have an Holy Image, albeit frosted, of Donald Trump on a cake? Have you ever had an image of Jesus Christ?..
..the discussion includes a topic that needs more viewpoints; so much passion about borders. East Tennessee has many potential illegal brown skinned people in jobs- and in ETennessee, the hiring is only done by Red State Republicans. Pro business means laws are loose..don’t need influential Democrats.
Its not actually bad timing that I’m reading about the things that we wanna leave behind in 2025, because my wife is still waiting for me to come up with New Year’s resolutions for 2026..
I will have to listen to this pod a few times, because I hear something new every time..
I do like the idea about watching what food I put in my body..
I also think that a resolution could involve more : thinking about things, like the point made about when you’re seeking excellence versus contentment..
And I will add that people-pleasing may lead to problem-solving. Increased attention to others beyond ourselves. We don’t have to be involved in everything..
Also the point made about gossip is making a bigger point. We need to have higher goals for ourselves, to focus on the people we elect.
..we have to watch our elected officials. For what is happening in Washington DC now is people who feel like their jobs are just to gossip. Whether it is true gossip, or lies, it doesn’t matter…. What can be said that can hurt someone else’s political situation? ..
That also moves from gossip to covetousness. Because the nation now is empire-building. And we know that our leaders do want to get rid of dictators, but actually may be jealous of the dictatorships. And want to control the citizens and resources in these countries themselves.
