This is one of the best true crime podcasts out there and it is very different in its format than most. It always consists of an interview with the author of a true crime book. The interviewer and host, Dan Zupansky, is an excellent questioner. It is evident that he reads each book and has prepared good queries in advance of the interview. Many of the authors he has interviewed have commented on his thoroughness and preparedness. He is always excellent and most of the authors are as well since he brings out the best in them regarding the details of the cases. If some of the interviews are better than others it is only because of the authors themselves and their ability or lack thereof to articulate well. Dan’s forum for these authors is wonderful in that the audience is often left with the desire to read the book, not because information was withheld or not enough information was given, but because one couldn’t possibly go over all of the information that is in the book in the course of an interview. Some authors will mention that they don’t want to give away too much; that they want people to read the book; but Dan has a way of getting enough good information from them that it leaves you satisfied yet wanting more. I have listened to many true-crime podcasts throughout the past 10 or more years and True Murder (the title cracks me up for some reason) is one of my go-to podcasts for this genre. Nice job, Dan!
